GOP Crybabies: The Media is Mean to Us

When you don't have the issues and the facts keep getting in the way, start spinning and then complain about the media. That's the Republican way, as we've seen this week.

Over at Politico, Roger Simon "apologizes" for the media doing its job. A sample:
We have asked pathetic questions like: Who is Sarah Palin? What is her record? Where does she stand on the issues? And is she qualified to be a heartbeat away from the presidency?

How dare the press ask such impertinent questions! Read all of Simon's dead-on comments here

Attacks on the press are risky for the McCain candidacy.

They unaccountably have retained a lot of affection for him from his "Straight Talk Express" days, and it shows in the softball coverage McCain has gotten up to this point.

If he is now going to play that standard GOP "bad press" card then we will probably see a lot more interviews in the style of the one Campbell Brown did with the hapless McCain proxy the other day.

With that tactic, he has to bet that the press will be cowed and report things his way.

He likes to gamble, we know that about him.
