New Rule: Intel Nominee Pledges to End Unlawful Surveillance

What a difference a couple of days make. The new administration actually wants to follow the law.

The evidence: Press reports today quote retired admiral Dennis Blair, nominated to be the director of national intelligence, as saying he won't support unlawful surveillance activities if confirmed.

Here's a Blair quote from Agence France-Presse: "I do not and will not support any surveillance that circumvent established processes without lawful authorization."

Refreshing, isn't it? After eight years of secrecy and deception, the new administration wants to follow the rule of law.
