And They Look So Much Alike

Lynne Cheney, speaking today on MSNBC, revealed that her husband, Vice President Dick Cheney, and Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama, are related—they're eighth cousins.

We know, it sounds far-fetched. But assuming it's true, we submit that Mr. Cheney and Mr. Obama seem quite unrelated on issues we care most about.

Given a choice, we'll cast our lot with the junior senator from the Land of Lincoln.

As Obama's campaign spokesman Bill Burton said, "Obviously, Dick Cheney is sort of the black sheep of the family."

Given that Cheney's not on any upcoming ballots, it's not exactly like it matters what he thinks about the issues you care about most, is it?

I'd vote for Obama before I'd vote for Hillary, but considering it'll be a cold day in Hell before I vote for Hillary, that hardly matters, either.

In honor of , I rewrote the "Patty Duke" lyrics:

...But they're cousins,
Ironical cousins all the way.
One pair of matching bookends,
Different as night and day.

Now, Richard adores a Minuteman,
A quailtard shoot, and Atavan,
He really likes to lock and load,
A lager make him lose control --
What a wild, wild man!

Still, they're cousins,
Ironical cousins and you'll find,
They laugh alike, they walk alike,
At times they even talk alike --

You can lose your mind,
When cousins are two of a kind.

tulsan: We're impressed—you've written lyrics to accompany our political song-and-dance.
