Palin Latest: Governor's Halo Loses Its Shine

Sarah Palin's clothing $150,000 bill is hurting her image as a regular, small-town hockey mom, much to the chagrin of all those small-town Republicans.

The New York Times sized up Palin's clothing problem today with this spot-on assessment:
Sarah Palin's wardrobe joined the ranks of symbolic political excess on Wednesday, alongside John McCain's multiple houses and John Edward's $400 haircut, as Republicans expressed fear that weeks of tailoring Ms. Palin as an average “hockey mom” would fray amid revelations that the Republican Party outfitted her with expensive clothing from high-end stores.

She's running for vice president of the greatest country in the history of mankind. If she's going to fit in in Washington, her and her family probably needs to look their best. This is a non-issue, except for those who have been diagnosed with political hypersensitivity disorder.

If so, then much of the GOP probably should have been put into intensive care for acute hypersensitivity disorder given their hyperventilation over Edwards' $400 haircut.

I don't think an Armani suit for every day of the month would cost that much. You do realize we are talking about $150,000, don't you?

The GOP's sensitivities are remarkably selective.

Who was the highest paid individual in Senator John McCain’s presidential campaign during the first half of October as it headed down the homestretch?

Palin’s Makeup Stylist Fetches Highest Salary in 2-Week Period

Should we call McCain/Palin the Powderpuff Girls?

They do both need to look their best, plus the lipstick bill for that pig is ferocious.
