Colin Powell on Sarah Palin

Colin Powell, speaking on Meet the Press today, has this to say about vice presidential pick Sarah Palin.
Now that we have had a chance to watch her for some seven weeks, I don't believe she's ready to be president of the United States, which is the job of the vice president. And so that raised some question in my mind as to the judgment that Senator McCain made.
Good point, general. Lots of Americans agree.

I agree and I haven't voted for a Democrat since George McGovern ran. It looks like I'm breaking that streak this election.

The true believers will now say: Colin Powell is not a real conservative any more, so who cares what he say?

Now we know why General Powell was never seriously considered for President. He was an abject failure as Secretary Of State and was moved out as quickly as possible.

I think he missed his opportunity to be a real hero when he let himself be used by Bush and co. to sell the Iraq war with false information.

Nevertheless, his endorsement may mean something to a lot of people. It is welcome.
