Texas Republican Calls on Asian Voters to Change Their Names

How dumb is this? 

In a discussion of voter identification this week in Austin, a Republican member of the Texas legislature suggested that Asian-American voters should change their names to make them "easier for Americans to deal with." 

The comments were made by Rep. Betty Brown of Terrell, a community in north Texas. 

Unsurprisingly, the Texas Democratic Party has called for Brown to apologize. But the Houston Chronicle quoted her spokesman as saying she was only trying to overcome problems identifying Asian names for voting.

Hey, here's an idea: Let's get Rep. Brown to change her name. How about Rep. Ima Idiot?
