You'll have to excuse us if we don't think the McCains are particularly well-positioned to offer advice on returning the Republican Party to power at this point.

I don't want to be TOO helpful here, but Rove and Cheney really don't seem like the best faces for the GOP to put forward.

But pay me no mind... could be the GOP's troubles will go away if they become MORE conservative, in the ways to which we have become accustomed in the last 15+ years.

A brilliant new strategy by the GOP to help them return to power: insults.

In an e-mail sent Wednesday to the 168 voting members of the committee, RNC member James Bopp, Jr. wrote, "The proposed resolution acknowledges that and calls upon the Democrats to be truthful and honest with the American people by renaming themselves the 'Democrat Socialist Party'."

The "Democrat Party" response?

"I'm going to pass on marketing advice from folks who hadn't fully thought out the implications of using tea bags as a brand," said Democratic National Committee spokesman Hari Sevugan.

A well-connected Republican said, "This was engineered by a bunch of people who ought to be involved in College Republicans, not the RNC. It’s not that they’re not well-intentioned, but it’s just juvenile."
