Romney Backers Go Negative On Hollywood Fred

Our nomination for Headline of the Day:
Romney Camp Linked to Attack Site Calling Thompson "Moron," "Skirt Chaser"
Fred's halo appears to be losing its shine.

Update—We hear now that neither Romney nor his campaign manager was aware of the anti-Thompson site. In any event, the PhoneyFred site has been taken down.

Even while the anti-Fred site was up, I think you reading that situation wrong. Fred wasn't losing the shine on his halo; Romney's camp was.

All that incident did was point out that some people in Romney's camp fear Fred.

excuse my typing. Of course, that should have been "I think you read that situation..."

Dan: Fair enough. Yet we suspect that Fred's halo will tarnish over time as his life and record (or lack thereof) become more well known.

From the NYTimes Caucas blog today:

“The third partner at the firm [TTS Strategies], Heath Thompson, is now working for Rudolph W. Giuliani’s presidential campaign, according to published reports.”

Hmmm. Compare that to this article from the Wash.Post: http://blog.washingtonpost.com/thefix/2007/08/giulianis_media_team.html Heath Thompson is working FOR Scott Howell (this is confirmed on Howell’s website: http://www.scott-howell.com/

Howell has been linked to the infamous ‘abrad2345′ Giuliani ads that have blasted Thompson, McCain AND Romney:
Giuliani ABRAD2345 ads on youtube

Just rank speculation, but is it possible that Wesley Donahue did the site at the behest of Heath Thompson and Scott Howell, rather than his other two bosses??? Maybe it WAS Rudy and not Mitt after all? Either way, someone’s got a lot of ’splaining to do!
