World's Best Health Care? It's Not in Texas

Conservatives are always claiming that the U.S. has the best health care system in the world. The statistics don't bear this out, but it's an appealing fantasy.

As it happens, we have the best health care system money can buy, which means that those with the money can have great health care.

And if you're poor, well, you probably didn't deserve health care after all. It's your own damn fault.

The current system leaves out millions of people who need medical attention. In Houston, for example, thousands turned up this weekend for free medical care, just the tip of the iceberg of Americans unserved or under served by expensive medical and insurance costs today.

Our friends at Think Progress have the details. Read all about it here.
