'Sour Grape' Cartoon: Tulsa's Martinson Takes a Hit

Editorial cartoonists have a great job. You can sit at your drawing table and think up clever ways to lampoon the high and mighty and the arrogant.

So when Tulsa Councilor Bill Martinson went down to defeat in the city primary this week, Bruce Plante, cartoonist for the Tulsa World, couldn't resist turning Martinson's own words back at him.

Take a look for yourself here.

This was a pretty sick campaign. Martinson put out a shlocky tabloid attacking Trail and ignored the issues while Trail put out a slick postcard featuring him in a contemplative mood and attacking Martinson for reportedly suggesting a moment of silence instead of prayer before Council meetings. I couldn't bring myself to vote for either one because of their unethical campaigning.
