The election can't come soon enough for most Americans. A new Time poll out today shows that only 21 percent of Americans approve of the job President Bush is doing in handling the economy.
Apparently, a lot of these Bush supporters live in Oklahoma, since recent polling in the Sooner state shows Republican John McCain with a sizable lead over Democrat Barack Obama.
Given the Bush record, won't be surprised if the Republican advantage shrinks between now and November.

Gas prices are about the only way to get Oklahomans' thinking about good old-fashioned self-interest voting vs. the "pleasures" of GOP identity voting in Oklahoma.
Kind of sad, voting for the GOP on that basis. While you get your jollies aligning on God, guns and gays, your "betters" are laughing as they continue to put more of your dolars in the top bracket's pockets.
If I were a GOP strategist, I would be going frequently to the racism well. It's the surest shot at manipulating the "base" in this election.
