"I put it on eBay," she proclaimed Wednesday night, to loud GOP applause.
Indeed she did. But she failed to mention, as Tulsa native Paul Harvey says, the rest of the story.
Which is: The jet didn't sell on eBay. The bids didn't meet the minimum price. So the governor's office turned to an old-fashioned broker, who did sell the plane.
And one more thing: The broker sold the plane at a loss. It's sad. Another great Palin story shot down in flames.
TRUTHINESS UPDATE: Media reports today note that John McCain is still peddling this story. The money quote: "You know what I enjoyed the most? She took the luxury jet that was acquired by her predecessor and sold it on eBay—made a profit," McCain said today.
As the saying goes, never let the truth stand in the way of a good story.

Sometimes it is best to take a lost then keep adding up the cost of maintaining.
The travel expenditures from former governor to Palin went from 470,000 bucks to 95,000 bucks in one year.
385 thousand pays for the lost and then some.
While we are at it. Let us talk about meals as the Washington Post try to make a thingy out of this.
When one adds up the meals for her kids and etc. Then compares it against previous administration minus the chef she fired and the meal expenditure their. It amounts to almost another 150 thousand savings.
You really need to find a better news source or twist.
I believe that's "take a loss," not "take a lost."
Yes, we know she didn't take any trips to foreign countries such as Canada. She didn't even have a passport until very recently. But of course, she is quite an expert on foreign policy since Russia is close by.
How stupid does she think we are?
