The Wit and Wisdom of Rocker (& Gun Nut) Ted Nugent

The gun zealots were out in full force last week when the National Rifle Association held its national convention in St. Louis.

No. 1 crazy man: Ted Nugent, washed-up rock god and full-bore gunslinger.

Never one for thoughtfulness or carefully reasoned opinion, Nugent ranted and raged at the NRA meeting, even predicting the Obama administrations Nazi-inspired prison camps for good, honest gun-totin' patriots like himself.

Some samples: "We've got four Supreme Court justices who don't believe in the constitution."

And this: "If Barack Obama becomes the President in November again, I will either be dead or in jail by this time next year."

Wow!

It's complete fantasy, as are a lot of Obama-bashing from the right. But it's still dangerously irresponsible and, well, a demented lie.

The details are here.

It's amazing how folks say that taking away our guns would be a positive step for society. We should ban cars, because more cars kill people around the world daily than almost everything else combined. There's an overlooked reason for low crime in certain countries/states/towns. The example that all gun haters love to pretend doesn't exist is Switzerland. Every citizen is required to own a gun and go to mandatory gun training every few years. As a result, almost no crime whatsoever (the lowest crime rate in the world)! Who in their right mind would try to perpetrate a crime in a country where everybody is armed? And I can absolutely guarantee you that their government doesn't dare try to get away with the civil rights-revoking laws and executive orders that our president gets away with in this country. We have a constitutional obligation to take back our government when they take away our rights and mismanage our resources/money/civil rights. THIS IS THE REASON WHY THE GOVERNMENT WOULD WANT TO TAKE AWAY THE CITIZENS' GUNS. A populace that cannot fight back is doomed. Watch and see how it plays out (much like Nazi Germany, Cambodia, Communist Russia and literally hundreds more examples). I'm not wrong here. History repeats itself and it's just dying to repeat itself again, as it will. By the way, I'm neither Republicrat or Democan.
