Republican leaders in the U.S. Senate have an economic dilemma.
They continue to bow down to the Tea Party zanies by lambasting government intrusion into the economy while privately admitting that the government's bailout program, called TARP, actually worked.
Without it, they admit, the nation's economic woes would have been much worse.

Next on the increasingly fanciful wish list of the Buffoon Party: repeal the 17th Amendment and remove the ability of voters to vote for senators. Instead, the state legislature would pick them for you.
Our Oklahoma legislature would have quite a challenge picking worse senators than Inhofe and Coburn, but I am confident they could succeed at that task, if few others.
Let's pause to give thanks for Gov. Henry, vetoing the bad bills that are coming out of the state legislature like bullets from an AK-47.
Even much of the GOP is distancing itself from the latest idiocy, State Senator Brogdon excepted, of course, who embraces it as if he were a "pray away the gay" therapist meeting a Rentboy.
