Election Update: Obama Wins North Carolina

The votes have been tallied in North Carolina and the Democratic candidate remains ahead. It's an Obama state. 

The Illinois Democrat won—just barely—in this very Republican-leaning Southern state, the first Democrat to do so since Jimmy Carter.
