Tea Party Fail in Alaska: Joe Miller Loses Another Court Case

Ah yes, another Tea Party candidate has gone down in flames.

We're talking about Joe Miller, the Tea Party's man in Alaska. He's the guy who lost to incumbent Republican Lisa Murkowski, who managed to beat him as a write-in candidate.

That's a Tea Party rejection—a huge one in Sarah Palin's Alaska.

Today the Alaska Supreme Court slammed the door on Miller's court challenge to Murkowski's electoral victory. Goodbye Joe!

The legal details here.

I swear, you are some of the funniest people I know.

Did the Democratic candidate--that was Scott McAdams, I'll remind you, as you may well have forgotten, nobody seems to have paid any attention to him--finish ahead of Joe Miller or behind him? Oh, you needn't bother to look it up. I already know.

Tell me, between Lisa Murkowski and Joe Miller, what percentage of the Alaska electorate rejected the Democrat? Looks like about 76 percent!

That's a Democratic Party rejection, as you might have put it, were you not so worried about Sarah Palin that you apparently didn't even notice that if anyone went down in flames, it was the Democratic candidate, Mr. McAdams, that he got beaten by the write-in candidate, too, and that more Alaskans preferred the Tea Party candidate to yours.

That kind of thinking is why you're so funny to read.

Okay, we're funny. But we'll take this Alaska Republican, especially after we read this story today on Politico:

[T]he Republican lawmaker is going rogue in the Senate just weeks after staging the most stunning back-from-the-dead political win of the 2010 cycle.

Murkowski is already showing a fierce independent streak, becoming the only Republican to cast votes on all four items on President Barack Obama’s wish list: a repeal of “don’t ask, don’t tell,” a tax-cut compromise, the START deal and cloture for the DREAM Act.

I have to admit that it never occurred to me that you might top yourself. Now that I've just watched you try to salve an electoral buttkicking by actually bragging over your consolation prize, though, I'll never make that mistake again!
